bASH - food and wine spectacular in Saint Helena
It’s bASH time !
The annual food and wine pairing competition is taking place this Saturday, April 1st between 6.00 and 8.30 PM at the Culinary Institute of America.
It’s one of the most fun and exciting food happenings in St. Helena. Over 25 Appellation wineries will take part to this event this year and their fantastic wines will be paired once again with the fabulous food prepared by local renowned chefs and caterers.
People come from all over the United States to be part of this celebration.
And it’s for a good cause; all the proceeds benefit Appellation St. Helena and the Culinary Institute Scholarship Fund.
Some of our favorite restaurants are participating this year. Among them the Market marketsthelena.com we love their fish tacos and their famous Mac’n cheese, and Press Restaurant pressnapavalley.com, you can’t come to St. Helena without tasting their spectacular menu. Our personal favorites are the Hanger Steak and the Oysters Platter.

An interesting competitor this time around is Woodhouse Chocolate woodhousechoclate.com; they always bring an element of surprise and it’s not only about the chocolate.

Farmstead is not on the list of the participants but it is one of our favorite places to share a meal with friends, and if you are in the valley you might want to stop there to savor their organic farm fresh menu. We like the Wood Grilled Castroville Artichoke and the Grass Fed Steak Tartare.
